Anita Luvera Mayer is an internationally recognized weaver and fiber artist, designer and author. Her focus on weaving contemporary garments began in 1972. She has focused the last 10 years of her work honoring the generations of women before her, with each piece a statement about ageing, wisdom, joy and sorrow. Although she still weaves, her creative fiber work has evolved to include many types of innovative surface design techniques such as beadwork, embroidery, and contemporary uses of antique laces.
Anita enjoys sharing her personal journey as a self-taught artist. She struggled to understand the creative process, identify inspiration and learn how to translate those concepts into her life and her work
